Hi there! I’m Layna. I am a writer, artist and a mom. I immigrated to the USA in 2014. Now, living in West Virginia, I’m a mix of curious explorer and laid-back mom. Yay, “Let’s Go Mountaineers! 💓”.

I am a woman who’s learned that life has its twists, turns, and a few fun detours 😉. With my boys grown and mostly out of the house, I finally have time for some of my own passion “projects” (the kind I don’t talk about with my Bible study companions).

My Faith ⛪

I am a good Christian.

I believe Jesus Christ is our lord and savior. Faith is a grounding force in my life, and I’m a regular at our local Bible study group, where I’m known for a bit of… creative interpretation 📖.

I believe in devotion, reflection, and a little room for wandering spiritual thoughts—who doesn’t? I find faith isn’t always so black and white, and if you read between the lines, you might catch a bit of my own personal passion woven in. After all, life and faith can hold more than meets the eye. I also love to irritate my sons coaxing them to read Bible 😉.

I love my fam 👩🏼‍👧‍👦,

I love my family. Since, my ex-husband divorced me three years ago, I am flying solo. Living with my two cubs 🐯, I wouldn’t say it was half as bad as I expected.

Motherhood has been its own wild adventure! My two boys are adults now, and while I’m so proud of them, sometimes this house can feel like a bit of a zoo 🦁. Life as a single mom of two sometimes-rowdy young men has its challenges—and its surprises. As they’ve grown older, let’s just say they’re not as bashful about exploring their own lives, interests, and impulses, which can make for some… interesting family dynamics.

Rediscovering myself while living with two young men who are often a little too comfortable with themselves has been… interesting. Let’s just say, life as a single mom has some surprises. Like every morning finding sticky wet crumbled napkins while cleaning their rooms or catching a glimpse of their screens before they realize I’m there.

Anyway, after my divorce, I have my own frustrations and, well, let’s call them “needs” that I’m rediscovering as I carve out more of my space.
